“I was born and grew up in Churchstoke, just over the border in Wales and my academic career is best not mentioned.

My working life has included spells in the motor trade and engineering, before converting my passion for traditional ales into my career. When I was made redundant in 1996, I immediately set about building a small brew plant assisted by Jeremy Blundell, previously a brewer at the Three Tuns.

We produced our first brew in January 1997, and this brewery has served us well until our recent move to the new plant.”
